Creativity. Connection. Opportunity.
The Mosaic Project is a free, weekly daytime open studio program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and senior adults. Created as a welcoming space for self-expression and connection, the program gives participants the freedom to explore art at their own pace and in their own way.Unlike a traditional art class, The Mosaic Project is open and self-directed. Participants can choose from a variety of art materials and mediums, experiment with new ideas, and create work that is entirely their own. There are no required projects and no pressure to create a certain way—just a supportive environment where creativity can flourish.The Mosaic Project grew from the success of our Arts for All program, offered in partnership with The Arc of North Central Virginia. While Arts for All provides structured, project-based art experiences, The Mosaic Project expands that mission through an ongoing daytime studio centered on individual choice, creative independence, and community.
At Jewell Tone Center for the Arts, we believe financial circumstances should never stand in the way of a person's opportunity to experience music. Our scholarship program provides financial assistance for music lessons to children and families who might otherwise be unable to afford them, helping ensure that more members of our community have access to quality music education, creative expression, and the confidence that comes from learning and growing as a musician.
The Culpeper Community Band welcomes musicians of all ages, from middle school students through adults, who play concert band instruments. No audition is required, and there is no cost to participate.The band performs throughout the year, with two main seasons and appearances at community events. The fall season begins in September and concludes with a winter concert in December, while the spring season begins in January and continues through the Fourth of July.Rehearsals are held Sundays from 6:00–7:30 PM at Culpeper Baptist Church and are open to all interested musicians. Performances are free and open to the public.Whether you're an experienced musician or looking for an opportunity to play again, the Culpeper Community Band offers a welcoming place to make music and be part of the community.
Musical Mornings take place on the first Saturday of each month from 9:00-11:00 and give children ages 5-11 the opportunity to learn about music in fun and engaging ways without the commitment of private lessons.Each month will focus on a different theme teaching an element of music or incorporating music into seasonal learning. Most sessions will be led by a former elementary school teacher with nearly 20 years of classroom experience, but sometimes special guests might present as well. Sessions cost $15 for the first student in a family and $5 for each additional student. The cost covers the cost of materials and supports the Culpeper Community Band. While students are welcome to attend every month, each session is independent of the others and there is no requirement to attend every month.
Development for Arts for All began in 2024 in partnership with the ARc of North Central Virginia to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In January 2025, the program launched with bi-monthly themed music and art nights. The program is free to attend and designed for those 18+.
